TCL 950 with 'Dual Apps' Feature Released in China

Chinese smartphone maker TCL just released its new flagship smartphone, the TCL 950, in China.

The TCL 950, which sports a premium hardware, is recently been leaking under another name, the Blackberry DTEK60, Android Headlines reported.

TCL 950 features a 5.5-inch AMOLED display panel with a resolution of 1920 x 1080. It is powered by a Qualcomm 820 SoC with a quad-core processor clocking at 2.15 GHz and the Adreno 520 GPU.  It includes a 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage, which can still be expanded through a micro SD card of up to 128 GB. The dual SIM based TCL 950 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.

Talking about the camera, TCL 950 comes with a 21-megapixel rear camera with the Sony IMX230 sensor with an f/2.2 aperture. Its front cam, on the other hand, has an 8-megapixel unit.

Moreover, TCL 950 is packed with a non-removable 3,000-mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 technology. It offers connectivity options such as 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS, A-GPS, and USB Type-C, according to SoftPedia.

Interestingly, TCL also touts that the new TCL 950 is capable of "Dual Apps," which allows users to run two instances of apps, and a multi-function key on the right edge to open apps. It also has a fingerprint scanner at the back.

TCL 950 is available in Silver and Gold colors, and price starts at 3,299 yuan ($495). Purchase can be made on the TCL's official website and other e-commerce portal such as JD.com.

While it is unlikely for the TCL 950 to reach the US borders, Blackberry DTEK60 is anticipated to launch in the stateside over the next few weeks.
