OnePlus X Smartphone Officially Receive an Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS Update

Chinese smartphone company OnePlus has officially confirmed that users of the OnePlus X smartphones are set to receive the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system update. The update will be available via OnePlus' OTA update application.

This firmware update comes with new Android build software and the latest OxygenOS 3.1.2. Users can directly update their respective OnePlus X devices if it is currently running versions such as OxygenOS 2.2.3, OxygenOS 3.1.0, or OxygenOS 3.1.1.

Aside from the latest Android operating system, this update also comes with a new Google search bar UI customization, a new design for the wallpaper picker, icon packs for the launcher, and new settings for the Alert Slider. This update has also comes with an auto arrange and remove icon functionality by just long pressing the boards. This latest firmware update fixes some bugs and will improve the general performance of the device.

The OnePlus X smartphone features a 5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) AMOLED display screen protected by the third generation Corning Gorilla Glass. The device is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at a speed of 2.3 GHz, which is paired Adreno 330 GPU.

The OnePlus X sports a 13-megapixel main camera with f/2.2, phase detection autofocus, and LED flash support. On the front is an 8-megapixel front shooter with f/2.4. It comes equipped with 3GB of RAM and a built-in 16GB internal memory storage, which is expandable via a microSD card slot. The device is fueled by a non-removable Li-Po 2525 mAh battery inside.
