Derrick Rose is reportedly having problems with his new team's preferred scoring system, the Triangle Offense, admitting that it is "a little bit complicated right now" after the New York Knicks' practice session on Thursday.

"It's complicated a little bit right now because it's new to us," said Rose, who ran the Triangle for only the second time with the Knicks, as per ESPN. It's foreign. "But I think the more we work on it and the way the coaches are putting it into the offense, it's (going to get a) little bit easier."

Team president Phil Jackson, the master of the said system who used it to win six championships with the Chicago Bulls in the 90s and five titles with the Los Angeles Lakers in the new millennium, is known to be adamant that the team is utilizing it as much as possible this coming season.

Earlier reports said, though, that Jackson has given new head coach Jeff Hornacek "the freedom to tweak the triangle" as he deems so during the course of a game.

Still, it is anticipated to be an important part of the Knicks offense and Rose is also expected to learn it as quickly as possible no matter how complicated it is for him.

"(There's) like 40 to 50 options on one side of the floor. It's like giving you your space for creativity," he said. "It's like if you're doing it the right way, you could do everything you want, you could freelance but you just got to know where you're going."

Meanwhile, Morning News USA indicated that if Jackson's experiment on Rose "falls flat on its face", then the former league MVP may be the "first player to leave the team in free agency."

Rose is entering the final year of his five-year $94.3 million deal with the Bulls inherited by the Knicks this coming season. He is set to become an unrestricted free agent next summer and it will be up to him to decide whether he would like to stay with the Knicks or receive an offer from another team.

The report then mentioned that the Dallas Mavericks is "among the list of potential" suitors for Rose as the Texas squad is set to offload Deron Williams by that time.

Chicago had reportedly negotiated with the Mavs before Rose was ultimately traded to New York as Cuban is said to be interested in acquiring the three-time All-Star since last season.
