The Honda Clarity sedan is expected to hit the market before the end of the year, and the car has been officially rated by the Environmental Protection Agency as the electric car with the longest range.

The EPA gave the Honda Clarity a rating of 366 miles.

Unlike the Tesla Model S, the Honda Clarity does not get its electric power from a battery. The sedan has a fuel cell that is powered by compressed hydrogen.

Aside from that, the Clarity has a small lithium ion battery that helps the car when full acceleration is needed.

According to Gas2, compared to the last generation model, the new Honda Clarity has a fuel cell that is 33 percent more compact with 60 percent increase in power density.

The Clarity's new compact fuel cell and integrated powertrain are comparable to the size of a typical V6 engine. This feature gave Honda the opportunity to design the new Clarity with a more spacious cabin with room that can support five passengers.

In terms of MPGe rating, the EPA gave the Honda Clarity a score of 68. Compared to the Tesla Model S, this is a relatively low rating.

Amid this low rating, though, experts are still expecting Honda to massively market the Clarity's high mile rating in order to boost hype around the car.

In terms of new features, the new Honda Clarity is equipped with the Honda Sensing, which is a set of safety and driver assist technologies. The sedan also supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for smartphone connectivity.
