(Photo : YouTube) AMD has unveiled its roadmap for the release of its latest line of graphics cards.

In response to Nvidia's new graphics cards, AMD recently announced that it is dropping the price of the Radeon 460 and Radeon 470 to better compete in the entry-level graphics card market.

To recall, Nvidia announced the release of its GeForce GTX 1050 and GTX 1050 Ti. The two graphics cards are based on the latest Pascal architecture and are expected to take AMD's flagship cards in the same segment.

Meanwhile, the AMD Radeon 460 and Radeon 470 were announced in June, at around the same time when virtual reality is picking up a lot of attention. The two graphics cards are branded as "VR Ready" and AMD said they should be able to handle the graphical requirements of the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive.

The "VR Ready" marketing strategy was quickly picked up by the mainstream crowd, especially the ones who are budget-constrained.

According to Slash Gear, the Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti, the more powerful of the two new graphics cards, has a price tag of $139 that makes it more affordable compared to the Radeon 460 and Radeon 470. However, the GTX 1050 Ti and the GTX 1050 do not bear the "VR Ready" stamp of approval.

A closer look at the specs of the GTX 1050 and GTX 1050 Ti would make an observation that the brand somehow managed to comply with at least the minimum requirements to handle virtual reality contents. It was noted, though, that Nvidia may have decided to play the safe marketing strategy and ditch the "VR Ready" stamp, rather than face criticisms when the graphic cards cannot handle said contents.

Keep posted for more news updates about the latest from Nvidia and AMD Radeon 460 and 470.
