Manny Pacquiao has recently signed an endorsement deal with Chinese sports brand Anta Sports Products Limited at Wynn Las Vegas on Nov. 2, nine months after the eight-division boxing champ has been dumped by Nike because of his controversial comment on same-sex marriage.

Pacquiao "not only helps improve the brand influence of Anta across the globe but also helps strengthen the presence of Anta in the training and boxing market," the Chinese brand said.

"The collaboration is a big news for both boxing and the sports industry in general," the company said, noting that while Pacquiao is one the best professional boxers in the world, Anta is also one the leading sportswear brands in China.

During the ceremony, the brand launched its Pacquiao-themed series called "Fight On," which aims to inspire all its clients to continue to fight on, Rappler reported.

"He is strict with his training routine and never gives up, which is in keeping with the brand spirit of Anta," Zheng Jie, Anta's brand president said, commending the boxer not only for being a good athlete but also an excellent example to sports enthusiasts.

Meanwhile, Pacquiao, who recently recaptured his WBO Welterweight crown from Jessie Vargas, said Anta is not only a leading brand in China but also has a strong influence globally, the Standard noted.

"Undoubtedly, Anta is very professional in the research and development of boxing products as well as the promotion of boxing events," Pacquiao, who now serves as a senator in the Philippines, said. He is looking forward to advocate professional boxing in partnership with Anta across the globe.

Pacquiao will be joining NBA stars Rajon Rondo, Klay Thompson, and Chandler Parsons as well as Chinese Olympic gold medalist Zou Shiming as Anta's brand endorsers.
