World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao has said that he is open to a rematch fight against the undefeated American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr.

"Not only for myself, but the fans of boxing (who) want the rematch, then why not," Pacquiao said, according to ESPN. "We can easily talk about that. It is not a problem. Because we now have direct contact with them, it would be easier to talk about when there will be a rematch."

Pacquiao stepped back into the ring on Sunday night after nearly seven months of retirement from boxing and dominated USA's Jessie Vargas in their 12-round world title bout by scoring a 114-113, 118-109 and 118-109 unanimous decision victory.

Pacquiao, who currently has a professional boxing record of 59 wins, six losses, and two draws, fought Mayweather in May last year.  The mega-fight was considered to be the richest match in boxing history.

The boxing bout reportedly made Mayweather, who won the match via unanimous decision, the highest-paid athlete on the planet with a paycheck of a whooping $240 million while Pacquiao earned $120 million.

During Pacquiao recent fight, Mayweather was seen watching at the ringside and this sparked speculations of a rematch between the two future boxing Hall of Famers.

"There's no talk of a rematch, but if there is, we can easily talk," Pacquiao said. "It's not a problem between us."

While there was still no concrete evidence to a possible Mayweather-Pacquiao sequel, the Filipino boxer's promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank is still optimistic that a rematch will take place, according to Sky Sports.

"I give it 75 percent," Arum said.
