Sony announced on Tuesday that starting Nov. 11, PlayStation Vue subscribers will no longer be able to access any show provided by Viacom. These channels include Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, BET, VH1, MTV, Spike, to name a few. With just three days to deal with the take down, many analysts are predicting that the abrupt changes will create a lot of confusion and anger to customers.

In a statement acquired by The Verge, PlayStation Vue head Dwayne Benefield said, "As part of our ongoing evaluation of the PlayStation Vue offering, we have determined that removing the bundle of channels from Viacom is the best way for us to continue to offer the most compelling value to our fans."

Many analysts agree that Sony's decision to drop Viacom channels on PlayStation Vue is part of the company's effort to cut down its service's monthly cost. PlayStation Vue's cheapest package that includes Viacom channels cost $39.99. With the current trend of online streaming services, Sony may have thought that it is reasonable to drop Viacom's channels on its lineup.

In order to counter the bad news, Sony announced that a handful of new channels will be made available to PlayStation Vue subscribers soon. Among these channels are BBC America, NBA TV, Vice, and more local broadcast stations from Fox and CBS, according to The Wall Street Journal. Sony also highlighted the fact that PlayStation Vue does not require subscribers to sign a contract that will bind them to a specific number of months to the company.

Prior to the recent case of dropping Viacom channels, PlayStation Vue made some major headways in the past couple of weeks by expanding its services to include Android TV, Mac, and PC.
