German automaker BMW has announced that it is expanding its ReachNow program with new mobile features and tools, as well as a new location. At a conference in Los Angeles, BMW confirmed that ReachNow carsharing service would be available in Brooklyn, New York.

In a statement acquired by Engadget, ReachNow chief executive officer Steve Banfield said, "Part of the reason we choose Brooklyn was we wanted to make it clear we weren't just a West Coast solution. We weren't just a regional product. Our mission has been from the beginning to cover the continent."

BMW said that it is fielding around 250 BMWs and MINIs for its customers in Brooklyn. BMW announced the ReachNow service in April. It was initially launched in Seattle, Washington before expanding to Portland. BMW ReachNow allows users to have access to BMW cars, as well as Minis, for one-way rentals provided that they are located within the area of operation of the service.

BMW said that the new ReachNow app allows users to personalize their ride experience by adding or setting specific features like music, the car temperature, even introducing a new "do not disturb" feature, according to Daily Mail.

BMW is also considering offering long-term car rentals for ReachNow users. This will allow users to rent a car for two to five days and will allow them to schedule a delivery of the car to a specific location. This new type of reservation and rental service will be made available to Seattle users early next year.
