Rumors are out that Milwaukee Bucks center Greg Monroe could be traded soon after head coach Jason Kidd virtually freezes him on the bench at the moment.

Monroe, who is a perennial starter throughout his so far six-year NBA career, started the season in an unfamiliar role as he was demoted to the bench. He had been contributing decently, though, as a backup to Miles Plumlee and John Henson up front as he was given 22.0 minutes of playing time per night during the first month of the season.

However, just a week ago, Coach Kidd further demoted him as he has been given no more than eight minutes of playing time in the Bucks' last four games, including a DNP in Milwaukee's loss to the Miami Heat on Nov. 17.

Fansided indicated that Monroe, who is just 26 years old and has yet to reach his NBA prime, has "fallen completely out of favor" with Kidd and he is slowly "becoming an irrelevant part" of the coach's plans in Milwaukee.

Suddenly, Kidd is preferring Henson, who is only one year younger than Monroe, and the energy he brings at the center spot enough to become the team's starter while Plumlee is his primary backup.

Monroe is now the third option at the number five position, which is too costly for the squad since they are paying him an average of $17.1 million per season.

This stunning devaluation from being the sixth man to not being used at all in just a span of weeks had set off lots of trade rumors that the Bucks could be ready to move on from their $52 million signing.

One of the latest trade rumors about Monroe was reported by Inquisitr, saying that with Plumlee and Henson both receiving contract extensions during the offseason, it is quite possible that the former Georgetown standout will be dealt away in or before the February trade deadline.

Five NBA clubs are reportedly interested in acquiring Monroe should he become available, namely, the Boston Celtics, Phoenix Suns, New Orleans Pelicans, Brooklyn Nets, and Charlotte Hornets.
