Less than a month ago, the trailer for the upcoming live-action version of 'Beauty and The Beast' broke the record for most views within 24 hours which was a record that was previously held by '50 Shades Darker' but 'Fate of the Furious' had burst into running and took over the record.

Deadline, was first to report the record-breaking 139 million views on Sunday.

In order to pull off such an attempt Universal Studios, the film's production company, had to put together a 'Fast and Furious' scheme by having the movie's stars show up for a Times Square takeover in New York City with involved showing the trailer on 33 billboards at the same time, a Facebook live stream and a trailer premiere during NBC's 'Football Night in America', which was also hailed as the most-watch primetime football game of 2016.

Aside from the live events, the total tally included views from Youtube especially since a lot of people watched the trailer via Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and Vin Diesel's social media feeds.

The movie which is set to premiere on April 12, 2017 follows the remaining 'Fast and Furious' crew as they try to find a sense of normalcy when a mysterious woman played by Charlize Theron seduces Dom (Vin Diesel) back into the world of crime that he had tried to turn his back on.

This is the 8th film in the 'Furious' franchise and is expected to once again break box office records.
