Recent NBA trade rumors have emerged that the Sacramento Kings are eyeing Atlanta Hawks power forward Paul Millsap in the wake of the team trading Kyle Korver to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Atlanta dealt Korver to the defending champs on Thursday and it was evident that the Hawks have accepted that their conference finals-finishing lineup has already taken them as far as they can go.

After Korver's trade, the only remaining starter in that 2014-2015 playoff-contending team is Millsap. Thus, it is not surprising that the 31-year-old three-time NBA All-Star had quickly been the subject of recent trade speculations.

One of the latest rumors about Millsap is the speculated interest coming from the Sacramento Kings.

According to UPI, the Kings have recently expressed interest in trading for Millsap and are currently "pushing hard to make something work" between them and the Hawks before the February trade deadline.

Millsap is in the second year of his current three-year, $60.2 million deal with the Hawks that has a player option at the end of the season. The power forward had already advised the club that he will opt out of his contract this summer to test the free-agency waters but also told them that his priority is to stay in Atlanta.

The Hawks are reportedly being cautious about the whole situation as the team does not want a repeat of what happened with Al Horford during the last free-agency period, which means a Millsap trade could be imminent.

However, SB Nation indicated that the biggest stumbling block for any trade with the Kings would be what Atlanta will ask in return.

From Sacramento's side, the question is whether they are ready to give up a few pieces of their future for a possible four-year rental of a player in Millsap as he will definitely enter free-agency no matter where the Hawks trade him.

The report noted that the Kings are short on assets to trade if they do not put up a package consisting of some of their young players and future draft picks. There are rumors that Rudy Gay could be the central piece of their offer to the Hawks, but it is highly unlikely that Atlanta would want a disgruntled, aging wingman to their side at this point of their rebuild.
