The Flying Tigers enjoy a 1-0 upper hand over the Long-Lions this season. Xinjiang got the better of Guangzhou in their initial meeting in the seventh round with a 99-89 win last Nov. 15, 2016 even without the team's top import Andray Blatche, who was then sidelined due to an injury.

With both of their foreign basketball reinforcement having impressive game performances, the Qiuping Liu-headed basketball squad is highly favored to win in their second outing with the Long-Lions, who were on a five-game losing skid and have only won four of its 25 scheduled matches played this season.

Prolific scorer Darius Adams and all-around player Andray Blatche were expected to carry the Flying Tigers to another victorious battle. The 27-year-old Adams is the league's current sixth top scorer (33.2 points per game) and ranks ninth in assists (5.8 assists per game), while Blatche ranks No. 4 in the CBA's leading players in steal with a remarkable average of 2.3 steals per contest.

Xinjiang, which is the CBA's third-top team in producing points per contest averaging 110.6 points per game, can also expect significant contributions from its local players with NBA recruit Zhou Qi playing in high level performance and Li Gen playing good basketball.

In addition with a better roster, the Flying Tigers ranks No. 5 in rebounds (43.6) and No. 6 in assists (17.3) in the CBA.
