League leaders Shanghai Sharks got the better of the visiting Liaoning Flying Leopards with a 100-96 victory on Friday evening at the Pudong Yuanshen Gymnasium in the 26th round of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) even without prized foreign reinforcement Jimmer Fredette to finish the game.

According to a published report of the Desert News, Fredette, the team and the league's leading scorer, suffered an injury midway through the second quarter. The former Sacramento Kings point guard did not return for the second half after scoring 10 points with four rebounds and two assists in 16 minutes of playing in the hard wood.

Fredette was averaging 38.4 points per contest on a 49.3 percent shooting from the floor, including 41.2 percent shooting from three-point marker and 92.9 percent from the foul line.

However, Frenchman power forward Guerschon Yabusele stepped up and put on an amazing double-double game performance to lead the Sharks to another victory. According to EuroBasket, the Boston Celtics recruit finished the game with game-highs 34 points and 15 rebounds to go along with five assists, two blocked shots, and one steal.

Yabusele went on an 8-11 shooting from the field and made 9-13 from the stripes while connecting three of his six attempts from the three-point area.

Chinese player Liu XiaoYu contributed with 20 points, while compatriot Lu Wei had 11 for the winners, who outplayed the opposing team with a 19-7 edge in the assists department.

Veteran import Lester Hudson paced Liaoning with 30 markers, while Han Dejun added with 23. Former NBA player Shavlik Randolph finished the match with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Shanghai had a 12-28 shooting from beyond the arc area, while Liaoning shot an anemic 6-29 from the three-point marker. The Yao Ming-owned basketball outfit forced the Flying Leopards to commit 26 personal team fouls during the game.

The Sharks remain on top of the table with an impressive 23 wins and four losses record, while the Flying Leopards dropped to fourth place with a 20-7 win-loss card.
