NBA: Golden State Warriors Demolish Defending Champions Cleveland Cavaliers in their Second Meeting this Season

After four consecutive defeats on the hands of the LeBron James-led Cleveland Cavaliers, the "Superteam" Golden State Warriors finally got their win over the defending champions as they scored a dominant 126-91 victory in their fifth encounter since the NBA Finals.

According to a published report of the ESPN, this regular-season round went to the Warriors, which dominated from the start on Monday night at the Oracle Arena -- and it wasn't even close. The Cavaliers were dismantled on the very floor where they captured the franchise's very first NBA championship crown last June.

Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry had a collaborated 46 points in beating the reigning champs. The Splash Brothers connected for a combined 10 three-pointers while going 15-37 from the field. The dynamic All-Star duo also went 6-7 from the foul line with Thompson shooting perfect 5-for-5 from the stripe.

Kevin Durant had 21 points, six rebound, and three blocked shots, while Draymond Green, who got a Flagrant 1 foul during the first half of the game after a midcourt collision with James, finished the match with 11 points, 13 rebounds, and 11 assists to go along with five blocked shots and one steal for another all-around game performance.

"This is high-quality basketball, at its highest level," Curry said. "These are the kinds of atmospheres that you live for. Whether you win or lose, regular season, playoffs, whatever, that you can play in that kind of environment that's always fun."

With the victory, the Warriors certainly looked ready to trade more post-season blows with the Cavaliers after losing three straight games in last season's championship round and in their first meeting for the current season last December.

According to the official website of the NBA, Cleveland suffered its eighth lost of the 19 road games they played. They remain as the Eastern Conference leading team with 29-11 win-loss card two full games ahead of the Toronto Raptors.

Golden State, which own the NBA's best win-loss record of 35-6, will next play the visiting Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday night.
