Chinese Basketball Association: Xinjiang Flying Tigers’ Foreign Reinforcement Darius Adams Chosen as Player of the Week

Xinjiang Flying Tigers' prolific scorer Darius Adams had an explosive double-double game performance in their 113-107 win over the Shenzhen New century Leopards in the last 28th round of the 22nd season of the Chinese Basketball Association, earning him the right to be named Asia-basket.com Player of the Week.

According to EuroBasket, the veteran American-Bulgarian point guard poured in game-highs 49 points and 10 assists in leading the Flying Tigers in avenging their 106-91 loss with the Leopards in the ninth round of the league's regular season.

The 2016 Spanish League Top Scorer connected seven of his 13 attempts from beyond the arc area while going 9-17 from the field for a decent 52.9 percent shooting clip and a 90.9 percent shooting accuracy from the foul line after making 10-11 from the stripe. Adams also pulled down eight rebounds and snatched two steals in 44 minutes of playing time.

Adams, who is playing his first season with the Flying Tigers, led Xinjiang to a better 23-5 win-loss record and presently sits on the second spot of the Chinese league's team standings.  The 27-year-old native of Decatur, Illinois have ushered his team in winning all of its six-game assignments in a row since losing to the team of the Guangsha Lions in the 22nd round last December 28.

The Flying Tigers are just a game behind the league's leader Shanghai Sharks, who own a CBA-best 24-4 win-loss card.

According to Asia-Basket, Adams is the CBA's fifth leading scorer having a remarkable average of 33.9 points per contest. The product of the University of Indianapolis Greyhounds in also in the league's top in assists with 5.8 assists per outing which is good enough to land him on the tenth spot of the rankings.
