Lenovo to Launch Midrange Android Tablet

Ahead of its unveiling in Mobile World Congress (MWC) in February, Lenovo's Tab3 8 Plus was recently spotted on Geekbench, a popular benchmarking website.

Lenovo’s Tab3 8 Plus receives IP52 certification, which protects the tablet from dust. On the other hand, the tablet is just splash-resistant and not water-resistant. It can withstand a bit of rain but not soaking in shower or at poolside.

Geekbench showed that the tablet is running Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) and it is powered by Qulacomm octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor. It offers Adreno 506 GPU and an X9 LTE modem on board. It is coupled with 3GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB 64GB internal storage options, which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. It weighs 11.6 ounces or 329 grams and measures just 7.97 mm thick.

The new tablet of Lenovo features an 8-inch full HD panel with 1920 x 1080 pixels screen resolution as well as Dolby Atmos stereo speakers and 3.5mm audio jack port. Its 8MP rear camera has an autofocus and a LED flash, while the 5MP front facing camera is good for selfies and video calls. It offers a generous 4250mAh battery, keeping the lights on and manages to score a whopping 101 hours endurance test.

Lenovo will unveil two variants of the Tab3 8 Plus: Wi-Fi only (TB-8703F) and 4G LTE (TB-8703X). The tablet is available in two color options: silver and blue that will feature a special translucent finish. 

As for the price, Lenovo has not released the details yet. However, the company is most likely to unveil it at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 in Barcelona in February.
