Xiaomi may be planning to release another budget-friendly smartphone as the Redmi 5 has been spotted on TENAA with the codename ‘MAE136.’

The Chinese regulatory website listing has revealed a few key specifications and features of the smartphone and its appearance. In the listing, there are two model numbers – MAE136 and MBE6A5. The MAE136 is being touted as Redmi 5 and MBE6A5 could be another variant of Redmi 5 smartphone.

As per TENAA listing, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 will be powered by a deca-core Helio X20/Helio X25 CPU with Mali-T880MP4 GPU. It is paired with 3GB and 32GB of internal storage with microSD slot for expandable memory up to 128GB. It will run on the MIUI 8.0 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

The dimension of the device is 139.24 × 69.94 × 8.65 mm, with a weight of 150 grams. It appears that the device will have a full metal unibody design with rounded edges and a fingerprint is placed at the back. The camera is placed on the top left corner with the flash sitting beside it, distinguishing from the Redmi Note series design.

The handset will sport a 5-inch HD display with 720 × 1280 screen resolution. It features 13MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash as well as a 5MP front camera. Its battery capacity is 4000 mAh and it features two SIM slots – microSIM and a hybrid nano/microSD.

For the connectivity options, the Xiaomi MAE136 supports 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), GPS, and a microUSB port. The sensor buttons are located in front and it includes Gravity, Distance and Light. Meanwhile, the power and volume buttons are placed on the right edge.

The Xiaomi Redmi 5 will be available in four color options: Gold, Rose Gold, Matte Black and Dark Gray. The pricing details of the devices are not yet available.
