The Brooklyn Nets are the worst team in the NBA this season with a record of 11-52 with just five weeks remaining before the playoffs. However, Nets fans should feel happy that Jeremy Lin is back because he is making the team better.

Lin missed a total of 44 games in his first season in Brooklyn due to issues with his right hamstring. He returned to the court after the All-Star break against the Denver Nuggets. He has helped the team win two games out of their last seven games.

It's not much but the team has improved after his return since some of their games have been really close. The Nets are more competitive and the players are comfortable with him as the point guard despite playing limited minutes.

In their last game against the Hawks, Lin played a total of 24 minutes and he scored 16 points while adding eight assists. The Nets almost beat the fifth-seeded Hawks on their own home floor 110-105, per NBA.com.

The Nets looked out of the game with about three minutes remaining in the game but Lin orchestrated a comeback. The team was just down by two points with less than a minute before the Hawks iced the game after a costly turnover.

Despite another loss, the Nets showed a lot of improvement and they could use it to win several games before the end of the season. It will help the team overall heading into next season as they try to become more competitive in the Eastern Conference.

According to Steve Lichtenstein of CBS New York, Lin has been a big help to the Nets and he is making everyone better. Brook Lopez knows that he no longer has to carry all the load on offense while Sean Kilpatrick is taking advantage of a reduced workload as a playmaker.

Kilpatrick can now focus on scoring and he has averaged more than 20 points per game in the last three contests. Even players like Caris LeVert, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, Spencer Dinwiddie and Isaiah Whitehead benefit from the return of Lin in the lineup.

The Nets will end their eight-game road trip on Friday against the Dallas Mavericks. They return to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on March 12, Sunday as they host their struggling rivals, the New York Knicks.
