The presence of Jeremy Lin has had a positive effect on the Brooklyn Nets and it was evident in another win on Sunday. Lin came up big in the fourth quarter to help the Nets beat their rivals the New York Knicks at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

The Nets just finished an eight-game road trip wherein they end up going 2-6 but there were a lot of positives despite the record. The team has improved their play since getting back Lin after the All-Star break.

The 28-year-old point guard led the team to two victories during the road trip and he helped get another one in their first home game in three weeks. Lin scored nine of his 13 points in the fourth quarter to help the Nets get the 120-112 against the Knicks, per NBA.com.

Lin went cold for the first three quarters before coming alive when the Nets needed him most. He told Newsday after the game that his desire to not let his team down led to his explosion in the final quarter to give the Nets their 13th win of the season.

"I think I was still out west for the first 3 1⁄2 quarters and gladly, I was able to show up a little bit. It felt like I was letting my team down and, I don't know. I wasn't doing what I felt like I needed to do. I just tried to stay aggressive and really kept my mind on playing my position," Lin said.

However, it's also a total team effort for the Nets in the victory over the Knicks. Six players besides Lin scored in double figures while two more players almost broke the double-digit scoring barrier. Brook Lopez had 25 points, six rebounds and two assists.

On the other hand, Carmelo Anthony led the Knicks in another loss with 27 points, seven boards and three dimes. Kristaps Porzingis added a double-double with 19 points and ten rebounds to go along with four assists and five blocks.

The Knicks are now 26-41 for the season and they have only won three games out of their last ten games. As for Lin and the Nets, they host Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday at the Barclays Center.
