Barcelona captain Andres Iniesta has turned down two $743,000-per-week offers from the Chinese Super League, according to the latest football rumors.

Iniesta, who will turn 33 in May, will expire his Camp Nou contract next year and there are no indications yet that he will play for the club beyond that. Amidst his uncertain future with Barça, the veteran midfielder had received two offers from China that includes "crazy perks like being excused from away games", as per The Sun.

The 5-foot-8 Spaniard and his agent, former teammate Carles Puyol, are rumored to be "unimpressed" by the club's latest compensation offer as the two parties negotiate for a contract extension. Barça said to have offered a two-year deal at a discounted price because the team is prioritizing the new contract of five-time Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi.

Messi's salary demand is reportedly "putting a strain" on the Blaugrana's spending power, which is expected to affect future contract negotiations with the other players. As the club's highest-paid player, the Argentina forward is currently making $319,000-a-week and is rumored to be asking a major increase.

Barcelona is also paying significant cash on the contracts of its two other superstars, Neymar ($312,000-a-week) and Luis Suárez ($250,000-a-week), which explains why Iniesta was unsatisfied about their recent offer.

There are also speculations that the Catalonia giants are simply no longer interested in keeping Iniesta, who is already in the twilight of his career. Iniesta has only appeared in 15 out of Barcelona's 28 games in La Liga so far this season, his 15th with the club, and has no goals.

The Daily Star noted that Iniesta has "started to fall down the pecking order at the Nou Camp this season" with the emergence of young guns Sergio Busquets, Ivan Rakitic, Arda Turan, Rafinha, Denis Suarez, and Andre Gomes in Luis Enrique's midfield.

Iniesta has already played in 619 games for Barcelona, 673 including his initial three-season Barcelona B stint. He has won eight La Liga championships with the club along with four UEFA Champions League titles.
