Huawei Nova 2 Smartphone Spotted on TENAA Certification

An upcoming Huawei smartphone has been spotted on the website of China's telecommunication certification authority (TENAA). The new device, dubbed as the Huawei Nova 2 smartphone, is the successor to last year's Huawei Nova.

According to the TENAA listing, the Huawei Nova 2 smartphone design is quite different from that of its predecessor. It has 2.5D glass sits on top of the display screen along with a Huawei logo on the bottom bezel. The phone features a fingerprint scanner on the back panel and a dual-camera arrangement that was not present on the original Nova device. Unfortunately, the full specs of the device have not been released yet.

The device's predecessor, the Huawei Nova, was announced at IFA 2016 in Berlin, Germany. The 3GB RAM with 32GB RAM variant of Huawei Nova is priced at 2099 Yuan (approximately $304.56), while the 4GB variant with 64GB RAM costs around 2399 Yuan (approximately $348.09). 

To recall, the Huawei Nova features a 5-inch Full HD touch screen with a resolution of 1920 pixels by 1080 pixels and 2.5D curved glass display. Under the hood, the device is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor clocked at a speed of 2GHz. The phone has an expandable memory slot and runs on the Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) operating system with the EMUI 4.1 user interface.

The Huawei Nova offers a 12-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing sensor for selfies and video chats. Fueling the phone is a 3,020 mAh capacity battery. Other features the device offers include 4G network support, fingerprint sensor, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, a micro USB port, and USB Type C. The device measures a body dimension 141.2 mm x 69.1 mm x 7.1mm and weighs 146 grams.
