A rivalry between Mark Cuban, owner of the National Basketball Association's (NBA) Dallas Mavericks, and general manager of the Houston Rockets, Daryl Morey is beginning to heat up. And it seems Cuban is getting under Morey's skin.

The feud began when Morey texted Cuban and asked whether or not he would trade for Mavericks superstar Dirk Nowitzki.

Cuban was surprised at the text, unsure if it was a joke or a taunt. He finally concluded that Morey's reason for sending the text was because he did not understand the value of team chemistry.

Morey is considered a pioneer for team analytics, creating a contender team with their trade for James Harden.

The comment hit a mark as Morey lashed back with several comments.

In a recent interview with Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo, Morey said that if Cuban valued chemistry, then he wouldn't have broken up his 2011 championship team for some room in their salary cap.

He said that now, it seems Cuban has gotten some "chemistry religion" recently, trying to reunite the championship team and has applied efforts to triple his analytics staff.

Morey ended his interview saying that if the money was equal between the Rockets and the Mavericks, players would choose the former any time.

Apart from that, Cuban had earlier offered a US $46 million offer to trade for free agent Chandler Parsons from the Rockets.

While Morey had the right to match the offer, but it would have messed up the team's salary cap.

As if it weren't enough, the insult to injury was added when Parsons signed the contract in an Orlando night club with Cuban by his side.

Morey has had a frustrating year lately. He had tried to recruit Lebron James and Carmelo Anthony and failed. His backup plan was to approach Chris Bosh but that also fell through.

There is no surprise that Morey has Cuban on his sights.
