This comes after reports revealed that the actor was accused of having sexually abused several young girls, including his estranged wife's 10-year-old relative.

The TMZ revealed an audio recording on Tuesday of what seemed to be a therapy session where Collins recounted the crime to his therapist and his estranged wife, Faye Grant in 2012.

According to several reports, Grant and Collins are currently undergoing a long and controversial divorce where some reports revealed how the former actress had recorded the audio of their therapy session released by the TMZ.

The recording revealed that Collins confessed to incidents where he exposed himself to underaged girls aged between 10 and 15.

The New York Police Department confirmed that a complaint had been filed against the 7th heaven actor as members of their Special Victims Unit proceed to probing the incident.

Aside from being let go by his talent company, Collins' career continues its plummet as an unnamed source told E! News that the actor will no longer appear in 'Ted 2', the sequel of the successful 2012 comedy, where his scenes had been cut.

A similar report also revealed that his supposed appearance in the current season of the TV series 'Scandal' had been removed, while reruns of the 1996 TV show 7th heaven were reportedly blocked from airing.

According to Chief Communications and Marketing Officer Pamela Greenwalt, the embattled actor had also submitted his resignation to the National Board of the Screen Actors Guild.

His two erotic novels, "Eye Contact" and "Double Exposure" published during the 1990s, were also criticized immediately after the audio recording was revealed.
