China is moving aggressively in the fight against Ebola, and with France joining the effort, the Chinese are confident they'd be well-prepared by the time the disease strikes.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and France's former Prime Minister Laurent Fabius held in-depth talks Sunday in Beijing on countermeasures against the spread of Ebola in West Africa. France vowed in bilateral agreements, including research efforts and humanitarian and medical aid to affected nations.

Both parties also summoned the international community to form a stronger bond in improving public health care systems.

According to experts, China will be the first Asian country listed as an Ebola casualty, which prompted the government to enhance P4 laboratories with satellite stations in France.

About 20,000 Chinese workers are currently assigned in West Africa; thus, provoking a hysteria of evacuation in hopes to prevent further spread of the disease. Agence France-Presse also reported that several Chinese medical workers were infected in Sierra Leone, raising doubts whether the government is covering up the extent of the infection.

On September 18, China pledged 200 million yuan (US$32.54 million) of aid package to Ebola-stricken countries such as Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea apart from additional medical supplies and health workers.

The recent meeting is a continuation of deepening China-France ties, including President Xi Jinping's visit last March. Also, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and French President Francois Hollande extended mutual supports on energy, finance, investments, and aviation among others during the 10th Asia-Europe Summit on Thursday.

Like Italy, France also recognizes China's potential to uplift its current market swell because of the weakening European economy. Chinese investors have begun buying local companies and investing on big brands.
