More and more women are actively seeking ways to achieve an orgasm nowadays as presented by a report compiled by the China Sexology Association, the Chinese Medical Association's Society of Andrology, and Pfizer, which was released in Beijing over the weekend.

The report, which focused on the satisfaction and happiness of Chinese sex life, revealed that modern women are more pro-active when it comes to dealing with sex. The data were gathered from a study of 10, 520 respondents, in which 41 percent comprise female participants while 59 percent were male. Moreover, it was found that 93 percent of the women have purchased sex toys. In terms of experiencing an orgasm, the report showed that more than 20 percent of the ladies never experienced such.

Ma Li, one of the handful psychosexual therapists in China who obtained a license from the American College of Sexologists, shared that most of her clients 10 years ago were men. However, she claimed that "people's attitudes to sex have changed in recent years."

She shared that a growing number of women clients have sought her services. Ma's clients ranged from ladies in their 20s, who seek advice on their "first time", to married women, who have not been able to experience an orgasm throughout their married lives.

Meanwhile, the compiled report gathered from the aforementioned respondents disclosed that men experience less-gratifying performance. According to the research data, roughly 90 percent of the male respondents were younger than 35, but merely 55 percent could achieve the score of four in terms of erection hardness.

"A score of four is described as a fresh cucumber. A score of one is more like bean curd," explained Secretary Jiang Hui from the China Sexology Association.

Among the male participants, those working in the medical field or institutes scored the highest in terms of the quality of their sex lives.

Men who work for the auto industry achieved low performance scores, in which only 41 percent of them managed to achieved an erection score of one or two.

"Men used to absolve themselves from responsibility of poor sex and blame it on women. I think the survey gives a real take on the problem," stated Tong Songzhen, a sex therapist from Taiwan.

To offer a remedy to these concerns, Tong said that communication serves as a key part in the experience.

"Most see sex as a 'mechanical movement', rather than a skilled, joyful experience. Sex is an emotion-involved communication. To enjoy it, you should talk with your partner more," Tong explained.
