Before the festival, film director Tony Kern expressed his excitement at being able to showcase "Afterimages" in front of an international audience. He says he had been given a lot of encouragement by respected local critics in Singapore.

Kern explained that filmmakers like him are always worrying about whether the nex film they'll be making would deliver and be received well or if it would let their supporters down. Since "Afterimages" had received good reviews locally, received a lot of endorsement and was supported by fans, the director says that he is thankful for everything.

The Eerie Horror Film Festival in the US is a celebration that lasts for four days. It aims to showcase independently-produced movies which are of the horror genre. Besides film screening, workshop and appearances by celebrity guests are also a part of the festivities.

"The Walking Dead" actor Norman Reedus, "The Fog" star Adrienne Barbeau and Sid Haig from "Devil's Rejects" made an appearance in the past festivals.

On the other hand, "Afterimages" is a film anthology of four horror stories which revolves around a group of artists who stumbles upon a supernatural 'source' of short movies. It also deals with their resulting efforts to develop their discovery.

The 92-minute film, which has received good reviews locally, features Robert Warnock, Adeline Pang, Vincent Tee and Melissa Faith Yeo with cameo appearances by Lim Yu Beng, Pamelyn Chi and Lim Kay Tong.
