It was finally confirmed that Taylor Kitsch will join the cast of HBO's "True Detective Season 2".

Kitsch will join Collin Farrel and Vince Vaughn on HBO's "True Detective" second season. Another new addition to the show are actresses, Rachel McAdams and Kelly Reilly.

According to HBO, the show's second season will do the production in California for eight episodes. The second season will be about web conspiracy in the result of a murder.

McAdams will play the role of Ani Bezzerides, a detective in Ventura County Sheriff who has a uncompromising ethics that put her at odds with others and the system.

Kitsch will play the role of Paul Woodrugh, a war veteran and California Highway Patrol's motorcycle officer. He was running from his past and from the scandal that never happened.

Reilly will play the role of Jordan, Vaughn's character, Frank Semyon's wife. A D-list actress who is focus on her what she does.

Taylor Kitsch is a Canadian actor and model who is popular for his role as Tim Riggins in NBC's series "Friday Night Lights". He also played the roles of Gambit in "X-Men: Origins: Wolverine, Lieutenant Alex Hopper in the movie "Battleship", John Carter in Disney's "John Carter", Chon in "Savages" and Michael Murphy in "Lone Survivor".

"True Detective" is an HBO crime drama series that was written by Nic Pizzolatto. The first season was directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga. Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson, Michael Potts and Michelle Monaghan were the main characters for Season 1. "True Detective Season 2" first two episodes will be directed by Justin Lin while William Friedkin was chosen to direct the other episodes. Fukunaga will be the season 2 executive producer.The main cast will be Farrel, Vaughn, McAdams, Kitsch and Reilly. 

Although the cast for season 2 had been named, the premiere of the season has not yet determined.
