Gong Li Disappointed Over Golden Horse Awards

Mainland Chinese actress Gong Li is said to be disappointed about the results of the 51st Golden Horse Awards, which was held November 23 in Taiwan, especially after she came home empty-handed.

According to Chinese media reports, the actress had been proud about making it to the prestigious awards ceremony. However, she is allegedly disappointed about the outcome of the awards night since the best actress award was given to 'Exit' star Chen Shiang Chyi and not to her.

Despite not directly commenting about the matter, according to Taiwanese media reports, Li's talent agency has allegedly released a statement that contains the actress' thoughts about said issue.

Last November 25, Tuesday, Zeng Jing Chao, Li's agent, is said to have sent a message that criticized the people behind the Golden Horse Awards, saying that they lacked professionalism.

Media outlets reported that the message made by Zeng also says that the people behind the awards ceremony should reflect on themselves because if their 'poor ways'. The agent also allegedly stated that Li herself stated that she will never attend the event again in the future.

Despite the message, Zeng also reportedly stated that Li is not upset about her loss and that her thoughts apply to the awards in general.

On the other hand, the fact that Li did not win the Best Actress accolade also fueled the past rumors that the actress has an unresolved conflict with the head of jury for the awards, Joan Chen.

Furthermore, another rumor surfaced, claiming that there had been biases during the 2014 edition of the Golden Horse Awards. A media outlet in Taiwan has released a story stating that the Taiwanese jury representatives voted or for Chen to win the Best Actress award. The reason behind their decision was allegedly because they were aiming to have more Taiwanese winners this year.
