Missouri Police Officer Darren Wilson's bullet didn't just end black youth Michael Brown's life, but also sparked violence in Ferguson and halted his career as a cop.

Jim Towey, one of the lawyers of Wilson, said his client would likely never resume his work in the police force. He will instead return to school and begin a new life and a new job, which includes being a father since his wife, Police Officer Barbara Spradling, is expecting a baby.

Before the grand jury released its verdict on Tuesday night, which freed him from all charges, the police officer got married in October and went on hiding.

The New York Times gave the name of the street where he and his wife lived, which is in St. Louis suburb and a 30-minute drive away from Ferguson where he shot Brown. His address became viral on social media, which prompted the couple to flee immediately.

Wilson moved from house to house and at one time stayed briefly with one of his lawyers. He also went to watch movies because the dark cinema allowed him to avoid detection, CNN reports.

Neil Bruntrager, another of Wilson's lawyer, said that his client received death threats, while some groups have offered prize money for his head that the cop had to use various disguises, including growing a beard.

"He's had to learn to live in a way that makes him completely unnoticeable. As a consequence, there are several techniques that he utilizes that make that happen ... It's an odd way to live your life. But for him, it's all about his family," Bruntrager added.

Wilson told ABC that "stressful" is not sufficient to describe his experience since he had to take precaution in everything he did, from where he sat at restaurants to what road he would take to drive.

Bruntrager disclosed that Wilson initially wanted to return to being a police officer right after the incident. But now it is not a question of if he would quit or not but when would Wilson leave the force. He is currently on leave with pay, but "there are discussions that are going on right now to separate from the department in an amicable fashion," the lawyer said.
