House Speaker John Boehner of (R-Ohio) had a confrontation with U.S. President Barack Obama on issues involving immigration policies, taxes and the government overall, reiterating his desire to avoid another government shutdown.

However, no plans have been announced formally but reports suggest that the Republicans will pass appropriations bill to fund the government for the whole 2015 as the current funding only covers until December 11 this year. They are still waiting for the new Republicans in Congress to be sworn before implementing any of their plans.

Also, the Republicans want to break out the funding for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in order to pass it as a continuing resolution.

The biggest issue though is they are also looking at the possibility of a disapproval vote on the immigration actions of the president. The Republicans are now controlling both the Senate and the Congress, making it easier for them to have leverage over Obama's move to protect over five million illegal immigrants from deportation.

In a news conference of Boehner in Capitol Hill, the house speaker said they have made no solid decisions yet but pointed out that the Obama's immigration plan is a violation of his authority.

"We don't believe that the president has the authority to do what he did. This is a serious breach of our Constitution," Boehner said. "It is a serious threat to our system of government. And frankly, we have limited options and limited abilities to deal with it directly."

The fight over the immigration policy of the president will run until March last year but most Republicans do not want it to be delayed until then.

On the other hand, White House spokesman John Earnest on Tuesday released a statement on Tuesday saying that the president will oppose bills that would go against his immigration reform policy. However, it was not clear if the DHS bill will also be vetoed.
