Pope Francis Says Dogs Go To Heaven

Pope Francis

(Photo : REUTERS/Yara Nardi) Pope Francis is greeted by the faithful as he arrives to visit the Saint Joseph at Aurelio church in Rome December 14, 2014.

Pope Francis was trying to make a little boy stop crying when his dog died and he said during his latest public appearance at St. Peter's Square that the paradise welcomes all God's creatures.

The Pope is instantly becoming the crowd's favorite since he has blessed the gay community; unmarried couples and even now advocates the Big Bang Theory. These are things people don't usually hear from a Pope and now he has even reached out to dogs, making people talk about animals and where their souls go when they die.

According to reports from an Italian media, the Pope said that one day, we would see our animals again in the eternal life of Jesus Christ. Animal rights advocates loved it when the Pope preached it in front of the crowd.

The senior director of faith outreach at the Humane Society Christine Gutleben said that her inbox got flooded with messages and comments about the recent message the Pope had delivered. She noticed that almost immediately, everybody has been talking about it.

Meanwhile, Fordham University author and Christian ethics professor Charles Camosy told the New York Times that it was not easy to decipher what the Pope really meant with it since he was speaking in a pastoral language. That just means that it cannot just be dissected by academics. But when he was asked if the topic has indeed sparked up a debate about animals having souls and going to heaven, his answer was an absolute yes.

The church alone does not oppose on the subject that animals have souls but their followers would like to believe that animals go to heaven. On the other hand, there are others that say all of these topics about animals having souls are nothing but a misunderstanding.
