Two of the leading possible Republican candidates for the for the 2016 presidential elections, Jeb Bush and Mitt Romney, reportedly met in private in Utah on Thursday in a meeting that had been scheduled months ago.

According to the spokeswoman for Bush, Kristy Campbell, the former Florida governor has wanted to "catch up" with Romney for a long time now. As for a spokesman for Romney, he noted that the meeting indeed already transpired but no details were given out.

According to people who are knowledgeable about the meeting, the conference of the two was initiated by Bush as a courtesy to Romney who has been the presidential Republican nominee back in 2012 and that the meeting was already scheduled months before Romney has announced he again has the desire to run for the post in the White House.

Since both have been saying that they are interested in running, the meeting was said to be a way for the two men to talk about their intentions for the 2016 elections. If and when the two did talk about the elections, critics are saying that both did not show any signs of changing their plans in exploring the said candidacy.

A senior advisor for Romney said that he has been doing due diligence and talking to people in order to get different feedbacks for him to gauge what he needs to do. The adviser adds that what Romney has been doing has resulted to something positive but did not elaborate.

As for the supporters of Bush, they have already expressed their doubts regarding the third attempt of Romney in running for the said post. On the other hand, supporters of Romney are questioning the passion of Bush in vying for presidency for him to succeed in the elections.

According to a Republican strategist identified as Ron Bonjean, "I'd say this is a highly unusual move. The fact that they are meeting is significant because it could lead to some decisions on the future of their candidacies."
