There's no question that Miranda Lambert is today's biggest contemporary country queen, as she leads the Country Music Awards with eight nominations.

Lambert is nominated for ACM's top honor: the entertainer of the year award, putting her at par with top male stars like country icon Garth Brooks, Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean and Florida Georgia Line.

Aside from that, Lambert also got nominated for the album of the year award for Platinum. She was also nominated for female vocalist of the year, vocal event and video of the year for her soundtrack, "Somethin' Bad,'" which she collaborated with Carrie Underwood.

She also got nominated for her other single, "Automatic," which earned nods for song of the year and two nominations for single record of the year as the song's co-composer.

The ACMs often serves as an indicator as to who will win at the Grammy Awards, where Lambert garnered four nominations in the country categories, including best country album.

Dierks Bentley also earned seven nominations, for male vocalist, album, single record, song, video and vocal event of the year.

If Lambert wins the entertainer of the year plum, she will be the first woman to win the award since Taylor Swift took home the top prize in 2012. Lambert has already won the female vocalist of the year award for five consecutive years, making her the record holder in the category.

Hit country duo Florida Georgia Line grabbed five nominations, followed by country strongmen Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney and Eric Church, each with four nominations.

This year, ACMs is turning 50. The awards night will be hosted by and Bryan and Blake Shelton and will get live coverage on CBS.
