Jordan King Seeks Revenge, Will Launch More Airstrikes Against ISIS

King Abdullah II

Jordanian ruler King Abdullah II vowed his people revenge for the brutal killing of the Jordanian pilot who was burned to death by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) on Thursday, ordering warplanes to bomb the militant group.

Jordan has been participating in U.S.-led coalition's attack against ISIS in past months albeit in a limited manner. However, the pilot's death pushed Jordan to make a "harsh" response to the group's actions.

The king appeared before state media on Thursday wearing a military outfit to signify that he is ready to start the war with the militants. He was also seen paying his condolences to the father of the Jordanian pilot while warplanes flew over them to salute the family after bombing the ISIS targets.

The new attempts of Jordan has come as a surprise as ISIS militants threatened to shoot down more pilots that will possibly be landing in their territory. The terrot group also vowed to kill these pilots if ever captured.

ISIS on Tuesday released a video showing how they doused First Lt. Moaz al-Kaseasbeh with gasoline while he was in a cage then burned him alive. According to critics, the killing might have happened earlier on January and it was the way of the ISIS militants to get back Jordan for participating in the U.S.-led coalition's campaign.

Due to this, the Jordanian military has released a statement promising to do everything to uphold the true values of their religion and to honor the martyred pilot.

"This is the beginning - you will know who the Jordanians are! We will be faithful to our hero the martyr Moaz," the army said. "We will continue our fight, sacrificing everything to defend the true values of Islam."
