The Oscar-winning film "Thelma & Louise" was released 25 years ago but the stars of the movie, Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon are reportedly thinking of ways to celebrate the film's 25th anniversary which was about a girls' road trip gone bad.

Geena says, "There's still so much affection for the movie and we loved it. It seems like there should be some girl power celebrating going on."

Geena and Susan are still really good friends and just recently came up with the idea. Geena reveals that she and Susan are discussing how they want to do it and are concentrating on possibly doing a "live show or a tour." She explains that even though they have not yet clearly figured out what's possible, "people seem to like the idea."

Geena can currently be watched in the show "Grey's Anatomy", which currently airs every Thursday at 8 p.m. She plays the role of Dr. Nicole Herman, who aside from being an excellent surgeon, suffers from a fatal brain tumor as well.

Aside from that, she is also preparing for her Bentonville Film Festival. This festival aims to see more women, as well as diversity in film and prides itself as being the first festival to give winners guaranteed distribution. She also founded a research-based organization named the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media, which encourages diversity and female characters in entertainment.

Geena shared, "There certainly are still great roles that come along that we see women in, but we're not seeing a wealth of female characters and we're not seeing films that are populated by women."

As for the "Thelma & Louise" anniversary, she hopes that it  "will serve as a reminder that it's possible to make a movie that's a cultural landmark starring women.
