Chinese singer-actor Lu Han has taken to Weibo to express his response over the cancellation of his supposed performance with his fellow former EXO member Wu Yi Fan on CCTV's 'New Year's Gala'.

CCTV made a sudden announcement through their official Weibo page that the stages in said event have been decreased from 38 acts to 36. The network did not specifically state that the two former EXO members were pulled out and explained that the acts that will perform will be revealed on the day of the event.

A CCTV reporter also stated, "The attendance of some young bloods are uncertain, watch out for tomorrow's rehearsals and you will know the final answer." The post was later deleted.

Later, Sina, a media outlet in China, revealed that the network has specifically pulled Lu and Wu out of the picture. Lu was supposed to perform 'You Who Sat Next to Me' while Wu is slated to perform his rendition of the song 'With You Forever'.

Following the cancellation of his performance, Lu posted a message on his micro blog, saying, "I'm already very happy to be able to experience the rehearsals. Honestly, I am a little upset that I could not persevere till the end. I'm sorry to have caused inconvenience to everyone."

He then expressed his thankfulness for his experiences in the past as well as that in the future. Lu also promised his fans that he will be working harder and encouraged them to watch the gala despite his absence.

On the one hand, his supporters have blamed SM Entertainment for the cancellation especially after they have announced that they will be counter suing them for their alleged 'illegal activities' in China.
