Daji, a TV character played by Chinese actress Li Yixiao, was the subject of China's censors in the latest episode of the television show "The Investiture of the Gods."

The character of Daji is that of a fox who became an empress.

Besides her white comical hairstyle, which looks like a fox's mane, the character is known for her plunging neckline that reveals a lot of the actress's upper breast.

The State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television thought that Daji has been showing too much of her cleavage.

As a result, the current episodes only feature tight facial shots. The buxom assets of Li have been hidden from the public view, reports the Wall Street Journal.

"The Investiture of the Gods" could be watched on a Shenzhen TV satellite channel.

The show is based on the life of Su Dahi, the favorite concubine of King Zhou, who was the last monarch of the Shang dynasty, which was from 1600 BC to 1046 BC.

The State Administration had also previously censored the TV show "The Empress of China" in December because it also featured women with plunging necklines. The heroine of that show is Fan Bingbing.

Chinese TV viewers expressed their disappointment over the censorship done by the State Administration on the two TV shows on local microblogging site Weibo, the equivalent of Twitter in China.

It is not just Chinese shows that the State Administration has censored.

In January, Beijing ordered major video streaming service providers to stop airing some U.S. series such as "Shameless," "Empire," "Agent Carter," "The Big Bang Theory" and "The Good Wife."

To further strengthen its control over what Chinese viewers could watch, the State Administration also plans to prohibit the unregistered broadcast of shows and it would review the subtitles of the first season of all foreign TV series before it is shown to Chinese viewers.
