Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei slammed a letter sent by a U.S. Republican, saying that he is worried because the United States is known for backstabbing.

Earlier this week, U.S. Republican Senators signed an open letter drafted by Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) threatening Iran's nuclear deals with the U.S. with a Congressional vote. In response to that letter, Khamenei criticized Americans for their "opacity and deceit," adding that he is very worried for his country.

"Every time we reach a stage where the end of the negotiations is in sight, the tone of the other side, specifically the Americans, becomes harsher, coarser and tougher," the Iranian leader said. "This is the nature of their tricks and deceptions."

The letter in question says that the deals will only be made official after it passes Congressional approval. The White House, however, said the President's foreign policies does not require any intervention from the House or the Senate.

The negotiation among Iran, U.S, and other countries will resume next week in Lausanne, Switzerland. The said deal is reportedly at a critical point because all countries involved want to strike an interim deal before March ends.

The final deal will again be discussed and shall be reached by June this year.

Both governments of Iran and the U.S. are trying to seal the nuclear deals despite the Republicans inviting Israeli Prime Minister Banjamin Netanyahu to give a speech opposing Iran. President Barack Obama said Netanyahu's speech could ruin the progress of the negotiations between U.S., Iran and other countries.

Khamenei also commented on Netanyahu's speech saying that the claims of the Prime Minister was humorous, but did not elaborate further on it.

Netanyahu warned the U.S. Congress that any deal made with Iran will just start a nuclear nightmare not only for them, but also for the whole world.
