Jessica Lange Won't Come Back For The Fifth Season Of 'American Horror Story'.

Actress Jessica Lange, who starred in four consecutive seasons in the hit FX series American Horror Story, announced that she won't be coming back for the fifth season of the horror anthology series, as confirmed by the actress herself in PaleyFest, according to NY Daily News.

"I'm done," said the 65 year old actress.

"We've had a great run here. I have absolutely loved doing these four characters that I've had an opportunity to play, and in all madness, I love the writers and Ryan for the insanity of shooting it. I've done four great characters but it's enough," she further added.

Lange didn't give any concrete reasons for her departure but mentioned several times how the 'Freak Show' story arc was the most special of all the seasons they've done and it was an 'extra ordinary experience'.

Lange played an amputated singer with a dark past in 'Freak Show'. The actress regarded this story arc as her most favorite story of all time, which bore a moral lesson of having to 'quit while you're ahead'.  This may be a possible exit explanation.

"Months after we finished the third season, I'm walking down the street in New Orleans in raggedy jeans, a dirty t-shirt and its like 150 degrees. I walk past this group of young boys sitting on these steps and as I walk past, they say, 'Holy Shitballs, It's the Supreme.' And I thought in my 40 years of acting, it's never going to get better than this," said the actress.

Along with Lange's departure was the announcement of the additional cast members for the upcoming fifth season of American Horror Story. Lady Gaga, Cheyenne Jackson will join the cast along with Matt Bomer, who guest starred in the TV series before.
