Pennsylvania Child Sneaks Out Of Home At 3 AM To Get Slushie

(Photo : www.slushiespot.com) A slushi was all that four-year-old Annabelle wanted when she left home at 3 a.m. to buy one.

Like a pregnant woman craving for a particular treat, Annabelle stepped out of the family house on Torresdale Avenue near Cottman, which is part of the Tacony community.

Garbed in a purple coat and snow boots, she was on her way to Wawa to buy a slushie. Annabelle is only four years old and the sight of a kid out at 3 a.m. on Friday morning alarmed a man who saw she was alone.

The man flagged a SEPTA 56 bus and told bus driver Harlan Jenifer of his find. Jenifer called the police. Within one hour, she was back home.

Later that day, while Annabelle's mother, Jaclyn Mager, guested at sister station WPVI-TV presumably to talk about her daughter's early morning adventure, Annabelle asked Jaclyn: "Mom, can you take me to Wawa and get me a slushie?

Jaclyn told her daughter she would, but said, "Promise me next time you'll wait for me, okay?"

Timothy Ridgeway, her father, made sure the door locks of the house since that Friday morning were reconfigured. He and Jaclyn are not taking any chances since a similar situation happened in Virginia and the result was not as pleasant as what happened to Annabelle who luckily met people who genuinely cared for her welfare.

Like Annabelle, five-year old Noah Thomas of Virginia apparently ventured out of their house on Sunday when his mother took a nap with her baby. At that time, Noah was watching cartoon, but when his mother woke up, he was gone.

On Thursday, Noah Thomas' body was found inside a septic tank. His relatives, in a news conference, said they believe foul play was involved, while Pulaski County Sheriff Jim Davis asked the public not to speculate until their investigation is over.
