Leehom Angered by Event Organizer Who Profited from Fans for a Supposedly Free Autograph Session

Taiwanese singer Leehom is said to be angry after the organizer of his autograph session and illegal advertisers used the supposedly free event to rip-off his fans who came to see him last Saturday, March 28.

On Saturday, the male recording artist held a free meet-and-greet event with his fans in Nanjing, China as a way for him to express his thanks for their support for his most recent album. During said event, the fans who bought his album are supposed to get into the venue for free and obtain his signature.

However, according to media reports, the organizer of the event, who were in cahoots with illegal touts, used the event to take advantage of Leehom's fans. It was reported that his albums were sold seven times its original price from RMB$88 to RMB$600 on the day of the autograph session.

Furthermore, the organizer allegedly gained a revenue of RMB80,000 by luring the singer's fans to spend money at the mall in a fake 'promotional activity'. Reportedly, fans were able to get VIP passes to the event by paying a sum amount of RMB$8,000 each.

The day after the event, the 38-year old singer took to Weibo to express his anger and disappointment about what happened during the event. He explained that he always holds an autograph session with his fans whenever he releases a new album in order for him to interact closely with them.

"It has always been a time for us to share our love for each other and reminisce the times we have shared. I did not expect things to turn out this way today," Leehom wrote on his Weibo blog.

In addition, the singer is said to be suffering from a throat infection and was advised by his doctor not to sing during the event, so fans, to show their support, joined him in a sing-along session to his latest song 'Your Love'.
