Previously known as Dai Yang Tian, revealed his negative experiences upon arriving in China. Almost out of work for almost two years,he would eat four pints of Ben and Jerry's ice cream to relieve his frustration. The actor also felt an enormous feeling of pressure because he left a very promising career back in Singapore.

However, Dai has no regrets with the huge career move since he remains focused on his goal to make it big in China.

Dai's dream was to become a famous actor or holds a major position in the production team in a span of a few years.

The actor was initially offered supporting roles, which he turned down because he didn't want to settle for anything less than a lead role. He expressed that accepting minor roles will typecast him into someone who will just be put at the background, this will result in the consequence of experiencing a difficulty to compete in China's entertainment industry that more saturated.

Everything changed for Dai when he was formally introduced to Liu Tao, who helped him land more roles as a lead actor in Chinese dramas. Liu Tao is now his talent manager.

Dai worked non stop filming five Chinese dramas in the past year. One of his dramas is currently airing in China so far. Dai also has an upcoming movie project titled, 'Lost In The Pacific', along with costars Bernice Liu, Russell Wong and 'Superman Returns' star Brandon Routh.

To prepare better for his English speaking role, Dai hired an Australian tutor to teach him English in Beijing. Dai reveals that learning how to speak English is quite tedious that he requested the director not to change the lines since he already memorized them word for word.

Dai still visits Singapore from time to time and he recently received his Singapore Permanent Residency last year. The actor is still open to acting gigs in Singapore if time permits.
