House Republicans' new solution to the border crisis will be agreeable to both parties, Texas Rep. Kay Granger (R) said as she revealed a new set of recommendations on Wednesday.

"The recommendation to amend the Trafficking Victims Protection and Reauthorization Act of 2008 is something both parties agree on, and modifications to the law can be done to expedite the process while ensuring proper protections are in place for the children who need them," Granger told the press on Wednesday morning.

Some of the major proposals included are changing the 2008 immigration law to speed up deportation of unauthorized migrants who crossed the border and the deployment of the National Guard to assist border patrols in controlling the influx of undocumented immigrants.

A prior proposal to alter the current immigration law has been heavily contested by Democrats while the intervention of the National Guard has been resisted by U.S. President Barack Obama himself.

The recommendation is comprised of several smaller bills from the working group spearheaded by Granger.

Other recommendations include establishment of security on the other side of the border, repatriation centers in Mexico and Central American countries, and the involvement of an independent third party commission to accurately gauge security developments on the border.

They also urged firmer penalties for human smuggling in the U.S. and Central American countries, and enhanced law enforcement operations to eradicate transnational criminal organizations.

Campaigns warning illegal border-crossers of the consequences of violating the law and busting immigration myths are also included in the proposals.
