Lindsay Lohan is dashing to New York to complete her required hours of community service in a frantic attempt to avoid going back to jail.

The star of "The Canyons" has apparently only completed 9 hours and 45 minutes of her required 125 hours associated to her reckless driving arrest back in 2012. To avoid serving time in jail, Lohan needs to complete her community service on or before May 28.

Her lawyer, Shawn Holley, explained in court why Lohan failed to fulfill her duties in London. The 28-year old actress was said to have been recording her hours, however, the approved British organization she works at transferred to a new venue, which is an hour and a half away from her home. Lohan's private transportation, the lawyer explained, currently costs her $76 an hour, which made if difficult for her to complete her community service there.

Unfortunately for Lohan, it seems like the judge's patience has run out. The court granted her appeal to continue her service with Brooklyn Community Services. BCS is the organization that accommodated her at the Duffield Children's Center, while she was busy filming her docuseries, "Lindsay."

"She has had three years to take care of this. If it's not done by May 28, there will be consequences," said LA Judge Mark Young.

The prosecutors, who have had enough of Lohan's behavior, are adamant about putting her behind bars if she misses the May 28 deadline. Melanie Skehar from the city attorney's office in Santa Monica said that Lohan was given several chances and blatantly said that she does not know how the actress will manage to complete her hours on time.

A previous rule restricted Lohan to working only 4 hours a day. Luckily for her, the judge gave her another chance and waived the rule so she can work over time and complete her hours.

A representative for the BCS remains uncertain about where to place Lohan. Ashanti Shaheed, a supervisor at Duffield, remarked that she has "no clue" as they have not yet heard from the troubled actress.

As for her mom, Dina Lohan, she remains optimistic and said that her daughter will absolutely "get it done."

Lohan has long been on probation for several drunken driving cases, some of which date back in 2007.
