Morgan Freeman wants marijuana to be legalized and candidly said that he does not understand why the law prohibits its use.

In Freeman's latest interview with The Daily Beast, the veteran actor passionately expressed his support to legalize cannabis, reasoning that it offers so "many useful uses" unlike alcohol.

He praised marijuana for its medicinal value and compared it to alcohol, saying that taking a drink will help a person quiet down, but taking two or three more will leave a person "f****d."

The award-winning actor revealed that his relationship with marijuana started when his wife introduced him to it years ago. As for how he takes it? "I'll eat it, drink it, smoke it, snort it!"

He shared that it's the only thing that can help ease fibromyalgia pain in his arm after it was broken into pieces from a car accident way back in 1977. He even explained that the fact that marijuana helps ease young children with grand mal seizures and enable them to have a life already says "Legalize it across the board!"

Freeman, who is widely known for his role in "The Shawshank Redemption," continued his defense by citing the Woodstock music festival as an example. Back in 1969, when no one was saying anything about marijuana, there was not one fight or incident. He then told the interviewer to recall what happened in 1999, referring to the riots and arrests that occurred during the anniversary concert.

Freeman's reasons for why he wants the drug to be legalized were much more rational than politician David Simpson's, who is a member of the Texas House of Representatives.

Supported by the Tea Party, he initiated a bill calling to decriminalize marijuana on the basis that it was God who created the cannabis plant and that "God did not make a mistake."
