According to IGN, Konami's popular survival-horror game "Silent Hills" is rumored to be an Xbox One exclusive video game as Microsoft has bought the rights to the game, courtesy of an anonymous source named "Rooster Teeth."

IGN has made several contacts to Microsoft regarding the rumors surrounding "Silent Hills'" acquisition, and so far, the company has not made any statements about it.

The YouTube channel "The Know" reported that another anonymous source claimed that Microsoft is pushing the deal to pay Konami billions of dollars to hand over the rights of "Silent Hills" to them.


The anonymous tipper further told The Know that "Silent Hills" is 80 percent complete when Konami declared that the game is no longer in development, ComicBook.com reported.

On other news, Screenrant reported that Microsoft is planning on showcasing "Silent Hills" in this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo this coming June 16-18 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

It was previously reported that Konami has apologized to their fans regaring the future of their games, which includes "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain," "Silent Hills" and "Mobile First," wherein Hideki Hayakawa, Konami President and Representative Director, has told Japanese website Nikkei that they will not just focus on mobile games alone and that they will still continue to build up an impressive portfolio of games in consoles, and embrace new ideas and ventures to achieving there goal in the future.

Gaming fans have also issued a petition to bring back "Silent Hills," and so far, the petition has reached almost 50,000 signatures, Screenrant reported.

The game was originally named "P.T." and the its development has been handled by "Metal Gear" creator Hideo Kojima and "Pacific Rim" director Guillermo del Toro. The game will feature "The Walking Dead" star Norman Reedus as the main protagonist and it was rumored to launch on March 2016.
