According to the Telegraph, British companies are in danger of being hacked, following what happened to the United States. In 2012, Jonathan Evans of the MI5 gave warning about imminent cyber hacking. Also saying, "a major London listed company lost a staggering 800 million euros as a result of a hostile state cyber attack." Although the name of the company at the time was not disclosed, speculations were that, it was the giant mining corporation named Rio Tinto.

Chinese spies have been reportedly very aggressive in knowing the information needed in order to fulfill their need for knowledge about raw materials to be used in the technology of building cars and skyscrapers. While China works on the manufacturing side, Russia is also concentrating on the business of exporting energy.

The British government pointed out one incident of a computer sending out signals to emails. Upon investigation, the malware is said to have been there for over nine months, linking the spying to the government of Russia.

The Snowden documents which contained joint information from the United States and the British government has now been the target of cyber hacking by China and Russia. China may have reportedly been in battle with long confrontations with the United States government if not for the questions raised based on Snowden's documents that also accuses the Western country of cyber espionage over "offensive cyber operations."

Although Britain has been less involved in the situation, the U.S. plans to confront China regarding the espionage.

According to Valuewalk, there has also been an attempt by the Russian spies to reveal the personality of a top business executive in Britain who failed to address his sexuality, it turns out, the subject was a dummy and the malware that came with it when opened affected the computers of the agency.
