In a bid to stop users from leaving its services for options like Snapchat and Instagram, Facebook is updating its Photo uploader which will be rolled across selected iOS users that will allow them to do more with their photos than the ordinary click and upload option.

According to Irish Examiner, Facebook has decided to roll new updates for its photo uploader option. With this new feature, the iOS users will be able to resize their photos, add visual effects and do much more than an ordinary upload. This will also include a series of filtering and mixing options to improve the choices for the end user.

As of now, Snapchat and Instagram are offering customers a chance to edit their picture in various ways. Through these new features, Facebook is hoping to retain its lost customers who have shifted to facilities like Instagram for its increased visual appeal. The proposed feature is still being tested and only selected iOS users will be given access to its benefits.

Those who are updated to the new feature will see a vertical line on their photos. Shifting between filters will also become easier as they will be able to simply swipe to make the change. Users will also be able to add text to their images using this new option in a few seconds.

It can be noted that previously Facebook has introduced filters and emoji stickers that have clicked well with the audience. The filters were able to improve the picture, only to a certain extent using the auto enhance feature, but this time, the update is much bigger and expected to be better.

A lot of technology gadgets are also calling this as cloning the facilities that already exist on another platform and are also doubting Facebook's ability to succeed. In the past, brands like Poke and Slingshot have failed miserably in such attempts, Tech Crunch reported.

Meanwhile, it is interesting to note that Line, the Japanese app that has taken the world by storm, is doing really well with its emoticon stickers that are a huge hit amongst the users.
