China's air pollution measures are already seeing positive results. In Beijing, the air quality has already been significantly improved just six months into 2015. The environment protection bureau of the nation has already confirmed the latest statistics on the air pollutants in the city to be true.

According to China.org, in light of the bureau's announcement, the presence of airborne particles PM2.5 - named because of its less than 2.5 microns size -has decreased to 777.7 micrograms per cubic meter. The PM2.5 particles are so small they can easily enter the bloodstream  and compared to last year's statistics, authorities recognize that the figures have gone down by 15.2 percent, which is quite impressive.

Aside from the PM2.5 particles, there have also been a clear drop in other pollutants like PM10, sulfur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide. If this plummeting statistics continue, China's air quality will greatly improved since its announcement of its desire for cleaner air quality.

"Conditions were favorable in the first half of the year," the bureau's representative Sun Feng said, adding, "But not enough that there was a sharp cut to air pollution."

Sun admitted that it wasn't an easy effort, but they managed to contain carbon emissions and encouraged industrial companies to engage in cleaner production in Beijing and its neighboring areas. Hence, it's not surprising that the air quality in Beijing has greatly improved.

Thus far, Beijing has seen a decrease of nine days on the number of days with significantly higher air pollutants. Because of this, the city managed to enjoy at least 88 days of sound air quality.

China's air quality improvement comes in the wake of the nation's vow to clean up the foul air in Beijing, and officials are doing their best to live up to this promise, according to CTV News.

In 2014 alone, coal consumption in Beijing has been reduced by nearly 2.8 million tonnes. This was realized through the authorities' strong effort of shutting down plants and certain factories.

In March, China shut down two coal power plants. Not only that, the nation also phased out a whopping number of 200,000 vehicles and 300 factories.

China's air quality is notorious for being smoggy, as per Star Tribune. However, Beijing is doing its best to mitigate air pollution in the city in hopes of winning the 2022 Winter Olympic Games bid.

China is hoping to see outstanding improvement on its air quality by 2017, and this will most likely be realized since the nation has allotted $130 billion for it.
